No. imok24 is a Web App (PWA) designed to work everywhere without installation. However, you can add it to your Home Screen like a real app:
🍎 iPhone (Safari): Tap the Share button (square icon with arrow) and select "Add to Home Screen".
🤖 Android (Chrome): Tap the menu (three dots) and select "Install App" or "Add to Home Screen".
No. Contacts receive a simple email. They don't need to register or install anything. It is advisable to warn them first (using the button in the settings) so they save the address no-reply@oxido.it to their safe contacts to avoid spam filters.
Yes, 100% free. imok24 is an ethical, non-profit, ad-free project. We do not sell your data.
The service is kept alive thanks to voluntary donations from users helping us pay for servers. If you want to contribute, you can use the "Buy us a Pizza" link found on the Home page or in Settings.
Yes. This is the most important feature of imok24. The timer resides on our secure servers, not on your phone. If your phone runs out of battery, breaks, or has no signal, the timer on the server will continue to count down, and if you don't check in, it will send the alert to your contacts.
No. Your privacy is paramount. Your Trusted Contacts receive your location (GPS coordinates and map) only when the emergency alarm is triggered. Until then, no one has access to your location data.
We set a "Reminder". A couple of hours before the alarm expires, imok24 will send you an email to remind you to give a sign of life. If you ignore that too, the alert will be sent to your contacts.
If you change device or clear browsing data, you will need to login with email and password and register FaceID/Fingerprint again from Settings.
To check in instantly without logging in:
1. Go to Settings and copy the "Quick Check-in Link" (the green box).
2. Paste that link into your phone browser (Safari or Chrome).
3. Add it to Home Screen (iPhone: Share > Add to Home Screen; Android: Menu > Add to Home Screen).
A dedicated green icon will appear to say "I'm OK" instantly.
After downloading and setting up Telegram, to receive notifications, you need to get your "Chat ID". The process is the same for everyone:
1. Get the ID: Click on @userinfobot, press "Start", and copy the number you receive.
2. Enable Bot: Click on @imok_alert_bot and press "Start".
🔵 FOR YOU: Paste your ID number into the "Telegram Chat ID" field at the top of the Settings page.
🔶 FOR CONTACTS: Ask them to do steps 1 and 2, send you their ID number, and then enter it yourself next to their name in Settings.
Absolutely not. imok24 is a passive safety tool ("Dead Man's Switch"). It does not contact law enforcement authorities and does not guarantee the transmission and/or delivery of emails in the event of network unavailability or instability, server outages, spam filtering, or other technical issues. Use it as additional safety, not as your only lifeline.
